In the pursuit of developing high-horsepower turbo kits for the 997TT, we encountered significant challenges with elevated intake air temperatures. Examination of the stock intercoolers revealed their alignment with the 996TT X50/GT2 design, suitable for up to 600hp but falling short of our power goals exceeding 700hp.
Given the absence of an OEM option, we committed to crafting an entirely new intercooler system. Employing advanced CAD (Computer-Aided Design) and CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) software, we designed in-house cast end tanks. These tanks were meticulously cast, machined on our CNC mill, welded to specially designed cores, and rigorously power tested and refined on our chassis dynamometer.
Our cores, 37% larger than stock (422 cubic inches vs. 308 cubic inches), adopt a high-flow bar and plate style engineered to our charge row and fin count specs. This engineering marvel results in a substantial 55F improvement in intake temperatures and a commendable 1 psi drop in pressure resistance through the core, requiring minimal trimming for installation—a noteworthy accomplishment.

– Beyond the exceptional core and end tank design, our kit boasts 6-ply silicone hoses with gentle curves to prevent bursting under pressure. These hoses are secured – to the intake and turbos with stainless steel high-force T-bolt clamps, incorporating a molded lip where they meet the turbos to emulate the factory locking mechanism. Notably, our hoses utilize Nomex braiding for superior strength, distinguishing our kit with the very best materials and industry-leading engineering.

Maintaining low intake air temperatures not only enhances power but also ensures better engine output stability in varying external temperatures, providing a necessary safety margin for those pushing the limits.
